On your computer
Start Tilo locally. Remote browsers run on this computer, with no cloud account or cloud cost.
From a configured Tilo source checkout, run npm run local and open the one-time link it prints. Local mode requires Node 24 and Google Chrome; it is not a standalone desktop installer.
Hosted
Use your invited account. Direct video and provider players are available first. Remote pages are available only when enabled by the operator, with a session time limit.

Questions
Does Tilo record anything?
No. Tilo plays streams; it never records or stores them.
Why do some pages use a remote browser?
Some sites cannot be embedded. A remote browser opens the page for you and streams it back as video. Each one uses a slot and runs for up to an hour.
Which browsers work?
Direct playback and provider players depend on your browser and the source. Remote pages also need WebCodecs support and an installation with remote browsers enabled. Some sites block embedding or remote browsers.
Is it free?
Tilo is free while it is invite only.
